After centuries of global plunder, the profit-driven economy rooted in patriarchy and white supremacy is unfairly undermining the life support systems of the planet. The unsustainable motto is to prioritize personal gain over neighbors and the environment. It’s time for a change. How do we overcome these practices that seem insurmountable? How do we juggle all of these solutions when there are so many (and not all of them seem real)? The Just Transition framework from the Climate Justice Alliance offers a path forward—practices and principles for sustainable living without exploitation. Are you ready to join in liberating our soil and souls, decolonizing our imaginations, and embracing a new way forward? Let’s unite to stop the harmful, build the new, and change the rules. Transition is inevitable; justice requires our intentional efforts.
This spring Soulardarity will host its first community-driven Just Transition Workshop on MAY 25, 2024. We are inviting Detroit, Hamtramck and Highland Park Residents interested in finding out how to actually own the tools and framework to dissolve and overcome these extractive practices and find real solutions that are local, ecological, and honoring of all people. This workshop is FREE to attend. Time & Location of the workshop will be shared with those that register using this PRE-REGISTRATION form. Space is limited, so please don’t wait to reserve your seat.
