Khary Frazier is a Detroit-based cultural strategist, media producer, and grassroots advocate whose work bridges community storytelling with civic empowerment. As the communications lead for Soulardarity, he champions energy democracy by promoting community solar initiatives and advocating for fair utility rates through the Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC), ensuring that policy reflects the needs of historically marginalized communities. He is also the founder of Detroit is Different, a transformative media platform that celebrates Black Detroit’s legacy through long-form interviews, community events, and neighborhood-based activism. From hosting the Collard Green Cook-Off to producing the State of Black Detroit, Khary uses culture as a tool for community building and resistance. Rooted in African-centered education and inspired by the spirit of hip-hop, his work weaves together advocacy, creativity, and tradition to build spaces where justice, heritage, and innovation thrive.
